Legacy giving hits new record in the Netherlands
The newly released figures for 2023 show that the 200 largest charities in the Netherlands received a record-breaking €464 million in legacy income — a 23% increase compared to 2022, when the previous record was €377 million.
These numbers, published by the Central Bureau on Fundraising (CBF), closely align with the insights from the Legacy Monitor Netherlands, our annual study of the legacy giving landscape.
Broad-Based Growth Across the Sector
The rise in legacy income was evident across a wide range of organisations. Not only did large charities with established legacy programmes benefit, but smaller charities — including those receiving legacy gifts for the first time — also saw their income increase.
